Holiday card staff picks: Dani, the new homeowner

We’re profiling team members at Pear Tree Greetings to show you which unique Christmas card ideas they chose and how they personalized them.

Holiday Moving Announcement

About Dani: I recently moved into a new house with my fiance, Scott, and our 5-month old puppy, Lola. We are excited to share the news of this new step in our lives with family and friends.

Card she chose: Cozy House – Holiday Moving Announcement

Why did you choose this card?
I was looking for cute moving announcements that could double as Christmas cards. This one is perfect to say happy holidays from our home to yours, while giving people our new address in a welcoming way. It looks like a Christmas card, but technically I found it in our moving announcements collection.

Did you do anything special to personalize it?
Not too much! I liked the Christmas colors and wintery theme of the illustration. Other than changing the text to say ‘Happy Holidays from our home to yours’ and adding our new address, I didn’t change a thing!

Holiday card staff picks: Shelly, the baker

We’re profiling team members at Pear Tree Greetings to show you which unique Christmas card ideas they chose and how they personalized them.

Recipe Christmas card

About Shelly: I am 23 and just finishing college. I am an intern at Pear Tree Greetings and am hoping for a full-time job here someday (hint, hint)! I wanted to send a Christmas card to my family and friends to give them a quick update on how I am and what I have been doing. It is just another step to being in the real world!

Card she chose: Stripes and Stories – Creative Photo Christmas Cards

Why did you choose this card?
I chose this card because I love that it will showcase my recipe! I love to bake, and I always get requests for recipes, so why not just send my new favorite recipe along to my family and friends so they can make their own little treats? I also love that I can change the colors and add photos to really show off my fancy Christmas treats and yummy cupcakes!

Did you do anything special to personalize it?
I put my new favorite recipe for Christmas cookies on the front and changed the background color to match the frosting on the cookies. Then I put photos of my cupcakes on the back and changed that background color to match the frosting on those. I think the two colors will look great together when it gets folded up! Last, but not least, I added a ‘sweet’ Christmas greeting.

Holiday card staff picks: Thao, the traveler

We’re profiling team members at Pear Tree Greetings to show you which unique Christmas card ideas they chose and how they personalized them.

Multi-photo Christmas card

About Thao: My husband and I love to travel. This year I visited Vietnam, Colorado, California (twice), and I am heading to Hawaii in December.

Card she chose: Travels and Memories – Photo Collage Holiday Cards

Why did you choose this card?
I love that this card allows me to use multiple photos and tell fun details about our year on the back. We have so many things to share, and I’m not very good at picking just one. For family and friends who did not get to see us, sending a card like this one is a way of checking in with them and telling them what we’re up to.

Did you do anything special to personalize it?
I made it mine by picking photos that I loved. The pictures by themselves tell stories about us, but the letter on the back is just icing! I think the finished card really shows the adventurous side to our personalities. Not everyone gets to see that throughout the year, so it’s fun to have a chance to share it.

Holiday card staff picks: Stephanie, the busy mom

We’re profiling team members at Pear Tree Greetings to show you which unique Christmas card ideas they chose and how they personalized them.

Timeline Christmas card

About Stephanie: I am married to an amazing guy and we have two amazing kids, ages 3 and 1. We just moved to Minnesota, and this will be our first Christmas card at our new house.

Card she chose: Best Year – Trifold Christmas Photo Card

Why did you choose this card?
The cute images of stars and reindeer on this card appealed to me. I also like that I can match the background to some of the colors in the pictures.

Did you do anything special to personalize it?
When deciding what to put in my card, I want to share, not show off, and I try to do that by showing the fun and closeness of our family—lots of hugs and holding. I like posed shots, but my husband likes candid shots, so I always try to put in a good mix. From a practical side, I want the kids to have personality but still look cute, so with all that in mind it can be hard to find the right photos. I decided to use the single photo at the bottom for our new home, because it doesn’t quite fit in with the others.
