It’s nice to include postage stamps with the gift, since they are difficult to come by in a hospital. And if you have family members or friends in common, a list of names and addresses comes in handy, too, if you are comfortable sharing it. During a family member’s extended intensive care stay, we started a notebook to keep track of what was happening, doctor conversations, etc., and a list of addresses and phone numbers to tuck into that notebook was helpful, as none of us had all of them in our phones.
