Balloon birthday party theme

celebrations.com birthday partyIf you’re looking for simple but fabulous kids birthday party ideas, what could be simpler than colorful balloons? Our Balloon Craze birthday invitation, in pink, aqua and orange, was the inspiration for this bright and bold girl’s birthday party planned by celebrations.com, and this party is all about color! (For boys, the invitation is also available in a royal blue, lime green and yellow color combination.)

A bouquet of pink, aqua and orange balloons outside the house led everyone to the party, and a color-popping DIY balloon wreath decorated the door. Inside, the table decorations echoed the color theme, divided into sections with treats in each color. Paper “lollies” (also easy to make) decorated the table, and clear jars and vases filled with colorful treats added to the decor.

Clear little jelly jars contained layered cupcake desserts in pink lemonade, blueberry, and orange cream to match the party theme–a yummy and mess-free dessert idea! Our creative party planners also came up with several balloon-themed games to play.

Last but not least, cute little treat bags were provided so the guests could fill them with their choice of treats. And for the finishing touch, each bag was decorated with personalized gift tag stickers from the birthday girl that matched the invitation! This kid-friendly birthday party idea was a hit.

Easy-to-write kids’ birthday party thank you notes

Kids thank you noteIt can be difficult getting your kids to write thank you notes for their birthday party gifts, especially when they are too young to write a note. The party is over, half the presents are broken already, and this feels like work to your little one. But you can make it a fun craft project, starting with birthday party thank you notes that match the theme of his or her party.

If your child is just learning to write, there’s nothing more fun to receive than a note that has a few words, or even just his or her name printed on it. Friends and family love to see kids’ first attempts at handwriting. Mom can write the body of the note, using your child’s voice for fun.

An option for even younger kids is to write the note and have your child “sign” it with a hand print. This makes for a fun rainy-day painting project. A less messy option is to trace the hand, or have your child draw a picture inside to personalize the note.

Writing thank you notes is good birthday party etiquette, and a good habit to get into when your kids are little. That way it won’t become such a battle when they’re older. Those graduations and weddings will come along sooner than you think!

Party favor stickers glam up a kid’s birthday party

Kids Birthday Party Gift TagsWhen planning a kid’s birthday party, the party favors always seem to be a last-minute, throw-something-in-a-bag-and-make-it-look-cute endeavor. But with just a bit of forethought, kids’ birthday party favor ideas can look like the stars of the party, and even help add to the fun atmosphere.

Most party ideas start with a theme, such as our girls’ Makeover Party Invitation. The fun starts when you carry out the theme with party favor stickers that feature your child’s name front and center. Coordinating party favor stickers are available to match most of our kids’ birthday party invitations, and they can be used to decorate serving dishes or placemats on the table, used in games such as scavenger hunts and, last but not least, to decorate the party favor bags.

What’s better than pink everything at a girl’s birthday party? And each little girl can go home with a bag furnished with nail polish, lipstick and a little bling to glam up at home, thanks to you!
