Graduation invitationsWhat’s better than planning your own grad party? Planning it with your bff, of course! Chandler and Carissa met in their junior year of high school, but quickly became best friends. “We have so much fun together!” say the girls. Since joint graduation parties are common at their high school, they decided to plan a grad party together.

After looking at graduation invitation ideas, the girls chose the Full of Celebration Graduation Booklet because “it looked fun and different.” They took advantage of all the room for photos and had special photos taken just for the party. We love the bright colors they chose, and the way their photos bring out their personalities and the closeness of their friendship.

As for future plans, they will be attending different colleges but are sure to remain friends. Congratulations on your graduations, girls, and have fun at your party!

Kids birthday invitationsCalle, the birthday girl, had her heart set on a gumball party for about a year– ever since her last birthday, in fact. “After each of her parties she declares what the next party theme is going to be,” says Calle’s mom, Sue. “Usually she never sways, and it stays that way for an entire year.” That excitement is one of the things she loves about her daughter.

“I love planning parties, and we always seem to have themes that are not the easiest. Last year she wanted a ski themed party and I ended up having to make the invitations myself. So this year she wanted gumballs. I did a Google search and Pear Tree was one of the only sites to have a gumball machine birthday invitation that I could personalize. The price point was spot on as well, for what I wanted to spend.” We like how she added even more personality to the birthday invitations by calling the party, “Calle’s 8th Birthday Blow Out,” with the RSVP on the back, “Will you be popping over?”

It’s obvious that Sue loves to go big on birthday party ideas when you hear what she has planned. “We are giving away mini gumball machines as the favors. I’m making a 3-dimensional gumball machine cake, along with gumball machine cake pops that will be sitting in mason jars filled with gumballs. I also found fabric that has gumballs all over it that I will make into tablecloths. I am still working out the other logistics, but that is where I have gotten thus far.”

We hope everyone (including Mom) has a blast at Calle’s party. Please send us pictures–especially of that cake! We’d love to share them.

save the date cardsAndrea and Justin’s wonderful Save the Date cards started with the photo shoot. They had a good friend shoot their engagement photos, and they turned out fabulous! Though they hadn’t thought about a save the date card at that point, the photographer suggested using the framed chalkboard as a prop to incorporate their engagement and wedding dates into the photos–one of the all-time-great save the date ideas! (See our blog post on engagement photos for more ideas.)

When Andrea saw our Sweet Math Save the Date Cards, she thought they would be a great way to showcase our photos. “I was also drawn to the uniqueness of the card. It was so much more original than other save the dates I’ve received.” She had plenty of room to tell the story of how they met and their wedding plans, not to mention their wonderful photos.

Did the cards meet her expectations? “I was so excited! I thought they were perfect. A few people that have seen them already have actually teared up! I can’t wait for our parents to get them!”

As for the wedding, “we are having it in my hometown and are going for a relaxed BBQ style theme with a live band! There is a bonfire pit where we plan to have a s’mores and hot apple cider bar late night. I’m really looking forward to sharing our first day as husband and wife with all of our loved ones!” Congratulations on your engagement, Andrea and Justin!

Valentine's Day photo cardsThis Valentine’s Day photo card will be a big surprise for the family and friends of this soon-to-be family of four. They decided to use one of our heart-filled Valentine photo card ideas to announce a new baby on the way.

Jennifer, the expectant mom, explains, “I decided to do a Valentine’s Day photo card because giving valentines out as a child was always something I looked forward to doing. I have done it often as an adult for coworkers, friends and family, though a photo valentine will be a first. I think this will be my best ever! What could define love better than a growing family?”

Christmas cardsIt wasn’t hard to choose this month’s Featured Favorite, because it was already one of our most unique family Christmas card ideas. We love how our customer, Tiffani, added her personal touches to make it even more unique—a greeting that could only come from her family.

Colorful Lights Ribbon Strand Christmas Cards, five vintage Christmas lights personalized with photos or text and strung on a green ribbon, was the perfect choice for her family. “I immediately loved the light bulbs when I saw them and just knew that was it.” This Little Light of Mine is a song she and her boys sing together. Text she had written for her church’s Christmas narration was perfect for the second light bulb.

When looking for family Christmas card ideas, Tiffani says, “I like something different. My formula for a good value includes the uniqueness and quality of an item in the equation. I selected this card because I can use it different ways. It will be my card, the toppers for some of my gifts, and garland on my tree.”

This card does require stringing the lights on the ribbon yourself, and Tiffani is planning to make it a family affair. “When we look back, it comes down to making memories, and lots of times it is the simple little things that we remember. My husband and two boys will make this into a family evening of education, memories, and fun. We will sort and assemble. We also usually each take turns saying things we are thankful about for the year.”

As she says, “It is hard to find a card that plants a seed that is remembered long after Christmas season is passed, and many of your cards have that wow factor that is remembered long after the tree is down.” Thanks, Tiffani! We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
