The only thing more fun than going to a baby shower is planning one for a friend! It’s just soooo fun to pick a theme, and come up with creative ideas for food and decorations. But, first have you picked out the baby shower invitations? The baby shower invitation wording, colors and theme can go a long way towards setting the mood for your shower.
Not only will it help you with decorating ideas, but the baby shower invitation wording can let your guests know what the mom-to-be is thinking about for nursery colors, what she might need in the way of baby gifts, where she is registered, or whether you’re planning any special activities they need to prepare for. Of course, there are a few must-haves when it comes to baby shower invitation wording:
- host’s name and address
- date of party
- start and end times
- contact info for RSVP
- gift registry information if mom-to-be wants to include it
- anything else you’d like guests to bring
Lastly, keep it fun. There are lots of ways to say, “You’re invited to a Baby Shower.” Here are a few baby shower invitation wording ideas that will get your shower off to the most adorable start.
Rubber Ducky Baby Shower Invitations — Retro Rubber Duck Toy
I am so excited to share a few photos and ideas from my best friend’s baby shower! I had fun planning the shower with her sister Liz, who flew in from California, and her sister-in-law, Shawna, from southern Minnesota. We thought it would be fun to have the baby shower for both Mom and Dad-to-be, so it turned into a big party for family and friends.
We wanted to involve Lisa and Sam, the parents-to-be, in the planning so to get ideas we asked them to pick out their favorite three baby shower invitations from our collection. Their top three were Alphabet Animals, Personalized Poster or Togetherness. Lisa and Sam are having a girl, but aren’t flooding everything in pink. They provided us with material swatches that are going to be included in the nursery. We thought the Alphabet Animals Baby Shower Invitations would be a perfect match! The invites were sent out in fuchsia colored envelopes, and we used the Alphabet Animals address labels to make them even more festive.
There were extra invites, so I created some paper banners by cutting and sewing flags together. I also made baby advice cards that doubled as a guest book for the party. I used rubber stamps to write out “baby advice” on each card. Liz put together some salt-water-taffy pinwheels, and we attached Alphabet Animals gift tags to them for party favors. Continue reading
Erin is one of my close friends from college. She and Dave make the most perfect couple I think I’ve ever seen, so I was beyond excited to find out they were expecting. They’re going to make such great parents. They love to bike, so when we released our Double Bicycle and Baby Make Three Baby Shower Invitations I knew immediately it was the absolutely perfect theme for Erin’s baby shower ideas.
At Erin’s request, we hosted the shower at her house. A few of the hosts took her to the gym while the rest of us stayed back to decorate and set up. We used the colors from the invitation as our guide for the décor, knowing we wanted something festive for the door and lots of color inside. We saw a tutorial on how to make tissue paper tassel garland at TomKatStudio.com and loved the idea. We made a short one for the door and a longer one to hang inside on the archway.
These adorable baby shower themes are what every mom-to-be is asking for these days! And once you find the perfect baby shower invitations to match your theme, it’s easy to get creative with decorations and menu ideas. Matching shower favor tags can be used to help decorate at your shower. And don’t forget baby address labels, and baby shower thank you cards for the new mom!
