Have fun with engagement photos

Engagement photo ideasWe see lots of great engagement photos here at Pear Tree, happy couples filled with excitement, sharing their joy in very creative ways. But the pressure to be creative and stand out while staying true to your personalities can be daunting.

For those who may need a little help getting started, we’ve created a Pinterest board to share the Engagement Photo Ideas we love. Feel free to use our ideas, or create your own board of ideas you love.

Some of the recent trends we’ve noticed are:
-editorial style photos
-first date or favorite locations
-hand-held props (balloons, hearts, etc.)
-photos of feet or torsos
-words & props in the photo that create a rebus
-the classic ring shot
-vintage filters, textures, locations & props
-themes (movies, destinations, sports, time periods)

Engagement photos, while certainly not required, are being used in many ways, from save the date cards and save the date magnets, to decorating the tables and favors at your wedding. Brides may also use them to create blogs or websites, inviting family and friends to participate in the wedding planning. Have fun with them!

Balloon birthday party theme

celebrations.com birthday partyIf you’re looking for simple but fabulous kids birthday party ideas, what could be simpler than colorful balloons? Our Balloon Craze birthday invitation, in pink, aqua and orange, was the inspiration for this bright and bold girl’s birthday party planned by celebrations.com, and this party is all about color! (For boys, the invitation is also available in a royal blue, lime green and yellow color combination.)

A bouquet of pink, aqua and orange balloons outside the house led everyone to the party, and a color-popping DIY balloon wreath decorated the door. Inside, the table decorations echoed the color theme, divided into sections with treats in each color. Paper “lollies” (also easy to make) decorated the table, and clear jars and vases filled with colorful treats added to the decor.

Clear little jelly jars contained layered cupcake desserts in pink lemonade, blueberry, and orange cream to match the party theme–a yummy and mess-free dessert idea! Our creative party planners also came up with several balloon-themed games to play.

Last but not least, cute little treat bags were provided so the guests could fill them with their choice of treats. And for the finishing touch, each bag was decorated with personalized gift tag stickers from the birthday girl that matched the invitation! This kid-friendly birthday party idea was a hit.

Personalized Valentine’s Day stickers make treat-giving easy

Personalized stickers for treat bagsHow do you personalize your child’s Valentine’s Day treats without going through the awkward process of taping all the treats to Valentine’s Day cards? We have a simple answer: Valentine’s Day personalized gift tags and stickers!

Our gift tags come in lots of fun designs and make treat-giving super easy. Choose a design that fits your child’s personality (or, better yet, let him or her choose) then personalize them with your child’s name. You can choose a design that leaves room for addressing to another child, or one that simply holds a V-day message from yours.

Little treat bags, sealed with your personalized stickers, are another cute way to deliver a treat, or a handful of little treats. Either way, the stickers get the fun message across.

If you’re not a fan of giving candy treats to kids on Valentine’s Day, there are plenty of other treats kids will love. Non-personalized valentine stickers make fun Valentine’s Day ideas for kids, as well as inexpensive little toys or school supplies like pencils and crayons. Remember, on Valentine’s Day, it really is the thought that counts!

Valentine's Day photo cardThis Valentine’s Day photo card will be a big surprise for the family and friends of this soon-to-be family of four. They decided to use one of our perfect Valentine photo card ideas to announce a new baby on the way.

Jennifer, the expectant mom, explains, “I decided to do a Valentine’s Day card because giving them out as a child was always something I looked forward to doing. I have done it often as an adult for coworkers, friends and family, though a photo valentine will be a first. I think this will be my best ever! What could define love better than a growing family?”

Jennifer created a big pink heart printed with the baby’s due date to hold in the photo, along with another heart that said “Big Sis” for her daughter to hold. We love how their photo ties in with the hearts strung across the top of the Blissful Heart Banner Valentine’s postcard. Of course, the “Please deliver to” message on the address side of the postcard couldn’t be more perfect.

Only a few friends and immediate family are in on the secret, so it should be a huge surprise for everyone else who receives it. “Hopefully it will make them smile,” says Jennifer. “I can’t wait for the calls to follow!”
