Graduation Themes

Alright. This week the blog is going to focus on graduation. Not only showing off our super cool graduation invites but also helping you plan and prepare for the best graduation party ever.

Where do you even start? Many start with a theme. Might be as simple as your school colors or extravagant as a Mexican Fiesta. I think my own graduation party theme was pork. I know, cool, right? Long story short my parents are in the swine industry, but really, I wish I would have had a cool theme. We actually had my party the night of the ceremony, so maybe our theme was ‘hallelujah, we’re done’. But enought about me.

Here’s a question we received recently from a Pear Tree customer…

Our son is graduating from high school this year and we’re planning his open house. We’d like to make it as fun as possible for him, but are struggling with finding a theme. Can you help us?

We sure can! Don’t think too hard about finding the perfect graduation theme…just think about your son. What’s his personality, what are his interests? If he’s involved in sports, decorate with the school colors and equipment from the sports he loves. If he speaks a foreign language and loves to travel, consider serving food and decorating with elements of different cultures. Does he love to swim? Consider hosting a pool party or a party by a lake to enjoy the water. If he’s a movie buff, how about a Hollywood-theme event? Music his passion? Decoarte in black and white with musical motifs. Once you pick a theme…the ideas will start to flow!

So, once you have your theme it might make it easier to select the perfect invitation!

Going with school colors? Our collage photo graduation invitation comes in many color options and also offers 4 different spots for photos. But if your school colors are the definite theme, how about placing your school logo or mascot icon in one of the photo areas? See what Megan from Washington did below!

Easter Photo Cards

Are you looking for Easter Photo Cards this year? Unfortunately we don’t have a collection specifically for Easter, but we do have a few options that would be perfect for Easter!

Easter Photo Card

One of my favorite wedding pictures :) I look kind of tan, loved the back of my dress…and my husband is reaching to kiss ME. Ha..may have been that he couldn’t stand any closer to me because of my dress. But I’m getting off topic now.

The above card is from our 4×8 Photo Holiday Cards – Create Your Own collection. The collection features 12 different layouts, ranging from 1 to 5 photos  Each layout comes in 12 different colors, above is called ‘Retro Blossoms’. Below are some other colors that I think would fit for an Easter Card.

This one is the Twice as Sweet card, featured in Decorative Damask.

1st Birthday Party

My son turns 1 in exactly one month! I can’t believe how fast this first year has gone! However sad I am that he’s getting so big…I am THRILLED to start planning his birthday party! No joke. My husband owns an excavation company so it is no surprise that our party will be ‘construction’ themed. Check out the invitation that is being designed…

1st Birthday Invitations

SO adorable. I’ve already found construction ‘cone’ hats, construction ‘cone’ cups, work zone streamers and found some pretty amazing pictures of construction cakes.
